Decorate To Celebrate Quest Designer...

What an honor this is for me I was asked to be a guest designer for Decorate To Celebrate. I am fairly new to blogging and this was the first time I have been asked to be a guest designer. There theme for the week is BABY BIRTHDAY OR BABY "BIRTH" DAY we can do anything we want as long as it wasn't a card or a layout. The task wasn't too hard it was just trying to pin point exactly what I wanted to do. I decided to to BABY BOY "BIRTH"DAY. I decided since I had not used my Cricut Imagine in awhile I would dust it off and put it to work. I used Nursery Rhymes cartridge for all images. Here are my creations I hope you enjoy.
I decided I would do a few things, since using  my Imagine is so easy to make multiples.

I started out with a baby announcement I made a total of five of them. I used the layer feature on the Imagine to make the tree and animals have a 3D effect ( love this feature) I cut all images at 5".

Here is a close up of the baby announcement. I love the cute little animals, and the colors.

Next I made a cute gift bag. I cut the top of the bag off and then used a Martha Stewart punch and punched the top of the bag. I cut the It's A Boy badge at 3", I used the fill page feature on the Imagine and filled my sheet with 9 of these badges. They can be used to decorate the outside of your envelope or put on the back of the announcements. I wanted to make a cute handle so took matching ribbon braided it together and attached with black sparkle brads to the bag.

Here are some close up pics of the bag and all the fun details I added.
An after thought I added a couple buttons to the badge.

I made this rosette out of some gray muslim material. Cute different round sizes, burned the edges and added a gem in the middle for some bling. The rosette is detachable, put a bobby pin on it so it can be worn by the mother. This was so much easier to make than I thought.
Made this large rosette ribbon badge with one of the 9 It's A Boy badge. I attached gray muslim material, white cardstock, coordinating ribbon and more muslim material (did a quick hand stitch and gathered in a circle) Turned out really nice if I don't say so myself.

Here are some close up pictures of the rosette ribbon badge.
Here is a side view, to show you the thickness of the project together.

I had so much fun making these projects. I am so honored to be asked by Decorate to Celebrate to be a guest designer. Don't forget to stop by their blog and enter in their fun challenges, and see all the other guest designers creations.

I also entered this in a challenge!

Happy Anniversary!!

I have been so busy planning my parents 25th anniversary party I haven't had much time for anything else. The party was this last Saturday so I am know getting around to getting the pictures up of the party. I had alot of fun making everything. But it sure kicked my but. I hope you enjoy.

This was the table that I put the party favors and the cake. My sister in law made the cake sure was a big help and took alot off my shoulders not having to worry about it. Had a Happy 25th Anniversary banner made to put above the table. Their was only a few touches of black and it really help set off the decorations.
These were gray and white straws made flags to put on them said happy anniversary on one side and 25 years together on the other. Such a simple and cute added touch. The rosette is one I put together with fun stuff I found on clearance at Micheals Crafts.
Made these cute rosettes with black, white and silver paper and a fun stamp I got at Hobby Lobby that has interchangeable letters to spell out K I S S E S.... Put some Hershey Kisses in a nice crystal bowl for the quests to take home.
These are the party favors I put together had white jordan almonds and Hershey Kisses in the boxes with fun tags that said Celebrating 25 years Waldo & Kenra. I made the 35 year banner with white and silver paper and the 25 years was printed on velum that I found at a little craft store.
Got this Love box for people to put their cards in for my parents at Hobby Lobby the box was 50% off who couldn't pass up that deal. I had some fun anniversary glitter, and white and black rocks that I put everywhere on the tables for some added touch and color.

These are more rosettes that I put together from stuff I found on clearance at Micheal's. I had a few of these I was able to put together and able to place in different spots at the party.

I designed the center piece and called a local Balloon company here in Salt Lake, Balloon Bonanza and told them what I wanted. They came about 2 hours early and set up the balloons. They turned out so amazing they really did an awesome job.
More pics of the tables and also a picture of my dads chair. Had some fun banners made that said MR. & Mrs. to put on their chairs. Just another fun added touch.
On the bar I put their pictures in silver frames had fun anniversary glitter and white rocks spread through out the bar. I made 4 of these ball toparies they took forever to make but really added to all the deocorations.

Here is a close up of the toparies I thought my fingers were going to be raw by the time I was done. I used 2 different types of tulle material to make them, added some small sweet white flowers, fun pearls and silver and crystal gems. They turned out beautiful.

Here is a picture of my parents before they cut the cake. What an amazing party. I had a speech I tried to read but I am such a ball baby I couldn't get through it. Here is a copy of my speech, that pretty much brought everyone to tears.

I would like to thank everyone for coming tonight. This year is a special year for our family. Last year we weren’t sure were we would be today. So for me this isn’t just a celebration for my mom and dad but a celebration for our family, and with out the love and support of our friends and family I know we would’ve gone insane by now.

25 years ago my mom found the love of her life, and if couldn’t have come for a better time for her. My mom and I had a lot of tragedy that struck our family at one time. And Waldo was her knight and shining armor. I don’t even want to imagine were she would be if he hadn’t come into her life. You don’t see a love like theirs that comes around too often we are all lucky if we just have an ounce of what they have. And 25 years later their love for each other is still going strong. . I thank my dad for loving my mom and brining her back to life!!!

I also want to thank all my brothers for being here today. My sister- in –law Jeanie made this most amazing beautiful cake. So here is a toast to Waldo and Kenra and to another 25 years together. LET’S EAT CAKE!!
Here is a picture of my mom and little brother and me
.
Here is a picture of my mom, grandpa, me and my dad. It was a great night.

Here is some extra pictures I thought would also add to the details of the party.

To me the elegance is in the small details, I wouldn't change a thing I did at the party. Congrats mom and dad I love you.

I would like to share some websites of the places I got some of the great stuff.

Happy Anniversary!

My parents 25th wedding anniversary is coming up in a couple weeks, and I want to make sure it is extra special for the both of them. Everything I hope is perfect, right down to the little details. Everything is silver and white there is a little black in a couple things but just a couple touches. The party is on the 10th of September, I will post pics from the day so you can see how it all came together.

I made these really cool toparies for the party I have made a total of 4, 2 small and 2 large. Only 2 of them are finished but the others are very close. I used white tulle, silver netting folded them and used a toothpick to attach to the ball wrapped the stem with silver ribbon, added some small white flowers, and some gems they turned out great.

One of the big ones, put white glass rocks in the bucket, and tied a silver bow around the bucket.

Partially finished, almost there. The toothpicks sure tore up the tips of my fingers.

Close up of the unfinished one. Kinda looks like a person with crazy hair ;)

Close up of the finished one. You can see the gems and the small white flowers. They really turned out great. I was worried about them looking too handmade and not elegant enough.

                                 These are the small ones.

There actually was a wedding challenge out there that I am entering these into. So wish me luck.

Back to School!

It has been so long that I have crafted. I am so sorry to those who follow me. Summer time is so busy for us. We have a boat and just recently got jetskis so any chance we can get out we head out to one of our many lakes that we are so blessed to live with in an hour. The only down side is, makes for not being able to create something fun. I have really missed out on a lot of challenges out there.
I always make something for my sons teacher on the first day of school. So I made a card and a fun bag for his new teacher this year. My son is almost 12 and is in 6th grade (ugh! my baby is growing up) I wanted to give him a fun bag filled with fun stuff for school for his first day back. So I made him a card and a fun bag and filled with treats, gum, pencils, backpack clip.
There were lots of fun challenges for Back To School, so am able to finally enter a couple challenges and give some great people in my life some fun stuff!

Here is the card I made for his teacher. I used the Wild Card Cart for the base card, The apple I believe is from the Preserves cartridge (I hope i'm not wrong) pho stitching around the edges some cute buttons, and a red ribbon( this is my favorite type of ribbon).
close up of the teacher card. I love how it turned out.

I wanted to make a little bag for his teacher, so I used the same apple, cut the back 2 school form the calender designers cart to make this cute tag for the front of the bag.

Here is the final product. I put everything in this cute bag for him to give to his teacher. Of course she loved it.

:Here is the card and bag of goodies I made for my son for his first day Back 2 School.
The card is from the Wild Card cart, the scallop is also from Wild Card and the sentiment is from the Stamping cart. All the pattern paper for both projects are from the Imaginesence school line along with all the sticker embellishments. I added buttons and of course some red ribbon to top off the card. Turned out so cute if I don't say so myself.

For the bag I used the Calender Designers cart matted on some different colors did some pho stitching and added to the bag I filled with some fun goodies for him. He loved it when he opened it. I think this will be a tradition for us from here on out. To give him something fun the night before his first day of school.
