Christmas In July!

I made a quick easy and simple card for a couple challenges today. I actually didn't use my Cricut. I know surprise surprise! I almost never not use it on any project. But my office/craft room was a mess and was trying not to make a bigger mess. So one of the challenges was to use only blue and white and another was Christmas in July so I combined the two challenges to make this beautiful card.

I took an A2 card dark blue I used a large damask stamp and stamped the back ground with white chalk ink.

I stamped the word Joy with a blue ink on light blue papers ripped the edges inked them and added little white snaps to the corners.
I had some snowflakes in my Christmas drawer added them and some buttons and ribbon for added embellishments. Such a simple card. But don't think I've forgotten about my Cricut I'm sure you will something new with it tomorrow.

This card entered in the following challenges.

Blog Award!

I received my first blog award. I am so excited. I have been so busy lately and have searched and searched my past post to find the amazing blogger who passed it on to me. So if your reading this my fellow blogger please email me so I can remember who sent it to me. Thank you again. So the rules of the award is to tell 5 things about yourself and pass the award on to 5 other bloggers. Neither is an easy task. So here it goes.

1-I work from home and have since our son was born. I am so thankful for being my sons mom.
2-My favorite movie is The Notebook.
3-I've been married for 15 years. And been scrapbooking for 15 years.
4-I am a closet Twilight Junkie!!
5-Up until I started blogging I didn't really make cards, now I seem to only make cards. I really need to get back into scrapbooking.

So blog hopping and trying to choose blogs who are newer blogs  or haven't had this blog award  has been challenging. But I think I got it. Here are my 5 choices.

Summer Lovin!

With summer in full swing, and no one wanting to give up the sun since it took so long for us to get it here. So many blogs are running summer challenges. Here is a card I made for many challenges. See the bottom of this post for all the fun challenges I have entered this in.
Wow I used so many different types of products for this card. the card base is from Wild Cards I had an extra cut laying around so might as well put it to good use. I cut a black circle with my Creative Memories circle cutter embossed with the Cuttlebug.
I cut summer off the life's a Beach cartridge and I cut off the toucan bird so there was just the word summer. I used my Slice (don't use that often) and cut the word Fun and placed it in front of some ribbon I folded along the bottom. The star flowers are a punch I had laying around.
The rosette I made from a couple different punches and paper. The small rosettes I used a scalloped Martha Stewart punch and cut it then rolled it up hot glued them to a punch I didn't cut up and embossed the scallop with my cuttlebug and then placed a button in the middle. I cut a couple strips accordian folded and made the rosette and hot glued the scallop with the rolled rosettes.

I love the color combo on this it really does make the whole card pop. Not sure what I would use the card for I am sure I will think of something.

this card entered in the following challenges:

Scrapbookaholic-Anything summer
She's a Sassy Lady-anything goes I'm at the beach
Papercutz-Anything goes
Die Cuttin Divas-Shapped card

B-day Made with my Gypsy

Couple challenges out there I was wanting to enter and was able to to put a few together. It is always nice to have extra cards you can pull out in case of an emergency. The following card I used my Gypsy to size and make sure all fit together. I love the color combo and the flowers make it really pop.

Challenges I am entering are:
 Birthday Sundaes Anything Goes
 Sassy Lady-Gypsy

The everything was made off the Wild Card cartridge using my Gypsy.
I used the scalloped card feature, used a circle using a layer on another card, and another feature for the flowers . The scallop tag is from  a Martha Steward punch and then added a birthday sentiment.

I double cut the flowers in different colors scrunched them, inked them and added a button with bakers twine for embellishment.
One of the features i love with the Wild Card cartridge is the envelope feature. Using the Gypsy really makes sizing so simple. I had my Gypsy for a year before I really started using it. Once I picked it up again and forced myself to use it, I can't put it down. The Gypsy really is one of my favorite Cricut accessories.

Here is the card peaking out of the envelope the colors are just great. One of the challenges what to use teal and green. I love how these colors compliment each other so well. This really was a simple card but yet so elegant, I can't wait to give it to a friend for their birthday.

I wanted to add a similar card for another challenge so switched out the sentiments and WALA new card for a new challenge. Whimsical Wednesday-Spell it out.

Thanks for  stopping by, and checking out my creations.

Cool Treats!!

This is a card I made for my mother-in-law who recently did a favor for me. I wanted to send her a thank you card for going out of her way for me.
I have been wanting to make a twisted easel card for a while now. So no better time than the present. Actually was easier than I thought it would be. The Ice cream is from the Sweet Treats Cricut cartridge, and the sentiments is one I made on my computer. Double layered the ribbon and did some pho stitching.
Here is the card opened, I stamped the thank you and pop dotted it up to hold the card up.

Here is a closer look at the ice cream. turned out really cute, lovin this card. Can't wait to send it out to her.

Extra bonus I will be entering this in the Tackey Tuesday Facebook Challenge.

A Little Gift For You!

I have been wanting to make a special gift for a friend of mine for awhile, after finding a cute breast cancer water bottle on clearance at Staples I knew what I wanted to do. I had been blog/youtube hopping a few weeks back, when I came across the cutest video on youtube done by Craftjunkietoo.com. Tracy made the most beautiful card, envelope, and bag all matching and coordinating I knew this was the design I wanted to do. The video in awesome and has all the details you need to make these projects if you want to make your own go to her blog and check it out http://www.craftjunkietoo.com/2010/10/butterfly-cards-video-125.html.

The card is size A2, layered black and white (the white edges were punched out using Martha Stewart punch) The butterfly is from Rock Princess page 67 cut at 3"
A closer look.... love the details
The envelope has been stamped with a butterfly set I had.

The bag which I looked everywhere for I got at Hobby Lobby good price $4 for 8 bags. Punched the sides added some bling, used tulle for the bow added some flower and bling, I also used the Martha Stewart punch on the top of the bag for added details.

I cute some vinyl and used the Hannah Montana cartridge and cut her name for the bottle used the same design and shrunk it for the cute little luggage bag tag.
A closer look and the vinyl. I sure do like the Hannah Montana font it really adds an elegant touch.

Here is everything all together, They sure do coordinate good together. Can't wait to give it to her and see the look on her face.

Handmade Gift Exchange

I entered in the Handmade gift exchange over at Craftaholics I have had such a wonderful experience doing this. Not only did I get some cool stuff I made something nice for someone I didn't even know. They do this twice a year and this was my first I will absolutely be doing this again. If you are interested go check out the blog. http://www.craftaholicsanonymous.net. Here is the gifts I made for my craft exchange partner in North Carolina.

This is a magnet board I found at Hobby Lobby. I cute the words from the Hannah Montana Cricut cartridge in white vinyl and made the magnets from the I-top.

Here is a journal that I covered in paper, used white vinyl and cute the words with Hannah Montana. I used some flowers and added some bling!

I made 6 Thank You cards, 5 for Janice to put in her stash and one for her to thank her for being my exchange friend. I sure hope she enjoys them.

Know here are the fun gifts she made for me. There was a fun waterbottle she put my name on with vinyl, a coffee cup with my initial, a picture frame to write on that she made the cutest rosettes and glued them on, a fun little magnet board she made and put an adorable flower on it(I think the flower will be one of my new favorite embellishments) and made fun magnets coordinating for it, a cozy mug holder with vinyl flowers and my initial, inside the holder she made cute little tins and had treats inside them. Thank you so much Janice I loved everything you made.

Happy Birthday my dear Friend!!

Here is a card I made for my BFF. Love to tell her she is older than me!! I was with her on her birthday July 3rd, so I forgot to give her a card and a present. I know horrible friend. So this weekend I made her a card and bought her a certificate to get her cute little toes pampered.

The card is made using the Wild Card Cricut cartridge. The pink and white flowers is off the MS birthday cake cartridge, there some dry embossing in there but the picture makes it hard to see. The scallop tag I made is off the Forever Young  cartridge put a cute little stamp in the middle. I also made a matching envelope using the Wild Card cartridge, love being able to make a matching envelopes for my cards.

Happy Birthday, my dear friend!!
